OUR VISION
Welcome to the Church by the Sea. Let me tell you about my hopes and dreams for this church. I see our congregation becoming a "Lighthouse Church." This is a congregation through whom God powerfully shares His light that people might come to find the source of that Light. I have believed for some time that the Lord wants CBTS to become a center where people come to meet and worship Jesus Christ. Beyond that, I see us developing into a sending agency. From this training ground, I believe God wants us to send out people to be agents for renewal in other churches and in many places throughout the world.
In brief, my understanding of the ministry and goals God has for us is as follows:
I believe this is to be THE MINISTRY OF CBTS:
- to shine the Light of Jesus in the darkness
- to share God's direction with the lost
- to give God's love to the lonely
- to speak encouragement to the
down-hearted
- to share our resources with the needy
To accomplish this ministry we have this
FOUR-FOLD Goal:
1 That all might know the Lord;
2 That all might learn the Word;
3 That all might be sensitive to the Holy Spirit:
4 That all might be equipped to do what God calls them to do.
If God Is going to use us to bring an understanding of renewal and new life as Christians to others, we must first be open to that work of the Holy Spirit in our own lives. As someone so wisely said years ago, "you cannot share what you have not first received." This openness to the work of the Spirit of God in our own lives is one evidence of the foundation work the Lord is doing at the Church by the Sea.
